Building the legal ERP that Spanish lawyers needed -- and didn't exist
Derechgo was born from a real frustration: law firms in Spain manage case files with Excel, physical folders, and emails. We built the first CRM/ERP designed specifically for Spanish legal practice.

Goal
Develop a vertical SaaS that would fully digitize law firm management: from client intake to case closure, including billing, court calendar, documents, and client communication -- all compliant with Spanish regulations (LOPD, SII, electronic invoicing).
The Challenge
The legal sector is extremely conservative and resistant to change. We needed to create a tool so intuitive that 60+ year-old lawyers could use it without training. Additionally, each legal specialty (criminal, civil, labor, commercial) has completely different workflows that the system needed to support without becoming chaotic.
Outcome
A modular SaaS where each firm configures its workflow according to its specialty. A minimalist interface that hides complexity. Direct integration with LexNET (electronic court communications) and AEAT (tax authority billing). A client portal where clients check their case status 24/7 without calling the firm.
Deep Dive into the Legal Sector
We spent 4 weeks working inside 3 different law firms (criminal, civil, and commercial) to understand their real workflows. We discovered that 70% of a lawyer's time is lost on administrative tasks. We mapped 25+ different workflows and synthesized them into 5 core modules.
Lawyer-Centered Design
Every screen was tested with real lawyers. The golden rule: any frequent action must be completed in 3 clicks or fewer. We created an adaptive dashboard that shows what's relevant based on time of day (morning: today's hearings, afternoon: pending tasks, end of month: billing). The result is an interface that feels as natural as using email.
Critical Integrations
The LexNET integration enables sending and receiving court notifications directly from Derechgo. The AEAT connection automates electronic invoicing and SII compliance. Legal document templates with variables allow generating contracts, claims, and briefs in seconds instead of hours.
Client Portal & Future Roadmap
The client portal was a game-changer: firms reduced 'how's my case going?' calls by 50%. Each client logs in with their national ID and sees the updated status of their case, shared documents, upcoming dates, and can communicate with their lawyer via secure chat. We're currently working on AI integration for predictive case outcome analysis.
